1. Two-year Higher Secondary Courses in Science, Arts

(B.A.) under the Gauhati University. In these Courses, a
student can opt for Major in any one of the following
subjects :

Course in Mathematics under the Gauhati University.
4. Computer Courses.
5. Foundation Course in Human
Rights.
6. Certificate / Diploma Courses in
Bioinformatics .
7. Courses in Distance Education
mode in association with IGNOU under Convergence
Scheme . These courses include:
(i) PG course in Mathematics
with application in Computer Science and, Political
Science.
(ii) Degree courses : B.Com.
and B.C.A.
(iii) various Diploma and Certificate Courses.

Higher Secondary
A. Science
Stream :
(a) English
(b) Modern Indian Language
(MIL) (Assamese / Bengali / Hindi) or Alternative
English.
(c) A student shall select a maximum of four subjects.
Out of these four courses, Physics and Chemistry are
compulsory subjects. The remaining two subjects should
be selected from the following as shown below :
Mathematics / Biology / Geography / Geology /
Anthropology / Statistics.
B. Arts
Stream :
(a) English
(b) Modern Indian Language
(MIL) (Assamese / Bengali / Hindi) or Alternative
English.
(c) A student shall select a
maximum of four subjects, of which three are
compulsory, from the following :

Depending upon availability of seats,
Major in any one of the subjects of his / her
combination may be allotted, if prayed for. Selection
for Major will be strictly on merit and, this exercise
will be conducted by the concerned departments.

While selecting a combination of
subjects, a student must clearly take note of the below
mentioned Rule of Gauhati University.
A candidate offering subject in
Coloum I must have passed the corresponding subject(s)
shown in Column (II) in the 10 + 2 or equivalent
examination.

boxes. Please note that you can select only one
subject from one box. Further, you should also note that
Anthropology, Statistics, Geography and Education are
subjects having practicals. You cannot select two
subjects having practicals. To secure Major in
Statistics, one has to pass Mathematics at H.S. level.

Post-Graduate Course
The college has a post-graduate course in Mathematics
which offers specialization both in Applied and Pure
Mathematics. The course has the semester system of
examination under the Gauhati University.
Foundation Course in Human Rights :
The Foundation Courses in Human Rights (U.G.C. approved)
is run by the Departments of History and Political
Science since 2005 to promote an awareness amongst the
students community. Beside, it would benefit the
students to employ themselves with N.G.Os and other
related organisation

Courses
on Bioinformatics :
The centre for Bioinformatics and
Computational Biology of the Department of Zoology, has
given the opportunity to the students of the college to
learn the latest advancements of Biological Sciences in
general and Molecular Biology in particular by in-silico
methods to prepare them for the pursuance of higher
academic career after graduation. The courses are
designed in such a way that the students also have the
easy and better job prospects after completion of the
courses.
The college provides two courses in
Bioinformatics at Certificate and Diploma level for the
undergraduates who cleared biology as a subject in their
10+2 (Sc.) Examination. The Certificate course is
executed in collaboration with the DOEACC Society, Govt.
of India, Guwahati centre. The Diploma course is a
career oriented Add-on Course approved by the University
Grants Commission, India. A rich collection of standard
books, free study material for the students, costly
Bioinformatics software and the high speed internet
facility are some of the assets of the centre.
Fee : Rs. 3000.00 (for
Certificate course)
Rs. 5000.00 (for Diploma course -
payable in 2 installments)
Total seat : 10 per course
* The students who cleared the
Certificate course from the centre need to pay a one
time payment of Rs. 3,000/- (Rupees Three thousand) only
for the Diploma Course.
